GridBase

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

GridBase ("we", "us") is a motorsport data and editorial platform built by fans. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run your account and the site, we don't sell anything to anyone, and you can delete your account whenever you like.

What we collect

Account data

When you register we store your name, email address and a hashed version of your password. Passwords are never stored in plain text. We also keep standard session records (browser user-agent and IP address) to keep your login secure.

Preferences

Your saved favourites (drivers, teams, series) are stored with your account so they follow you between devices.

What we don't collect

We run no advertising trackers, no fingerprinting, and no third-party analytics that identify you. We never ask for or store card details.

Cookies

GridBase uses a single essential cookie: your session token, which keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking or advertising. See the Cookie Policy for details.

How we use your data

  • To operate your account and keep it secure.
  • To show your favourites on your dashboard.
  • To answer messages you send us.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Data lives in our own database and is only processed by infrastructure providers required to host the service.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and your personal data and favourites go with it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR if you are in the EU), you have the right to access, correct, export and erase your personal data, and to object to processing. Contact us and we'll handle it — no forms, no runaround.
